Circular-Knit Compression Garments

Circular-knit garments are manufactured in the form of a seamless knitted tube using a round knitting cylinder. It can be likened to a French knitting wooden doll that is used by children in knitting crafts. A circular-knitting machine has a fixed number of needles – the more needles a machine has, the wider the garment. Unlike a flat-knit garment, stiches cannot be added or dropped therefore, a more tubular shaped garment is produced rather than a bespoke custom-fit garment shaped to the limb. Circular-knit compression garments are generally suitable for treating mild to moderate levels of swelling with a less distorted limb shape.
